                         You will always be surrounded by bad things or bad people. However, it's up to you if you want to follow the crowd or stand on your own. This is why Thomas S. Monson wrote this quote for people to never follow the crowd but to follow what's right. In life you will be surrounded by people who do drugs, steal, lie and cheat. Since there will be people like that in the world it's up to you to stand on your own and say I won't be like that; just because everyone else is doing it doesn't mean that it's the right thing to do it means that people need help in realizing what is the right choice. Thomas S. Monson is right; you should stand alone and do the right thing at all times.

            Obedience is the greatest test of life that you would ever take because it’s the test that will show what kind of person you are. If you are an obedient person you would see that people will take you with more respect because you follow direction exactly as they are being given. Obedience is choosing the right at all times and that’s what you always want to do. That’s the reason why Thomas S. Monson has a point when he says obedience is the greatest test of life.

                           It's never good to compete against each other because all it will cause is problems with one  another. The reason why Thomas S. Monson is saying this quote is because you should be worrying only about yourself and not about others because at the end of the day the only person it will be affecting is yourself not nobody else.Think of ways to better yourself if people don't want to do good that doesn't mean  you should go along and do even worse because they are doing the same. Don't be a follower be a leader and show those who are doing wrong that you won't be the same you will do better because it will affect you and not the other person you are trying to get ahead off. Better yourself more then yesterday.

               Thomas S. Monson is making a great point by saying that every decision determine destiny because everything you do in life affects your future. For example if you have a student who throughout his whole life he has been responsible, finishing school, and hard working well that hard work will pay off and odds will be that he will graduate from a good university, obtain a well-paid career and succeed in life. But if there’s a student who has done nothing but miss school behave bad, odds will be he won’t make it far in life and have a stable job and home. Every decision you make no matter how small they’re can be it will affect your destiny.
