" Our very business in life is to not get ahead of others... but to get ahead of ourselves."
Thomas S. Monson
It's never good to compete against each other because all it will cause is problems with one another. The reason why Thomas S. Monson is saying this quote is because you should be worrying only about yourself and not about others because at the end of the day the only person it will be affecting is yourself not nobody else.Think of ways to better yourself if people don't want to do good that doesn't mean you should go along and do even worse because they are doing the same. Don't be a follower be a leader and show those who are doing wrong that you won't be the same you will do better because it will affect you and not the other person you are trying to get ahead off. Better yourself more then yesterday.

Allopathic
Physician (M.D.)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Physicians examine patients and
obtain medical histories. They also perform and interpret diagnostic tests; and
prescribe and administer treatment for people suffering from injury or
disease. They counsel patients about
illness, injuries, health conditions and preventive healthcare. They can also
conduct medical research, teach and run medical centers. Often additional
medical tests are required, including blood work, to assess biochemical
indicators of general health or specific diseases. A physician often writes an order for a
pharmaceutical for the patient to take to either alleviate symptoms or to treat
the disorder.
Salary:
$86,600- $750,000.
Education:
Most MD programs require 4
years of study, including emphasis on basic science, clinical work, and social
science. The first two years of most programs are generally aimed at classroom
learning of basic science as it relates to medicine. Subsequent years of most programs then focus
on clinical training.
Reflection:
Being Allopathic Physician (M.D.) sounds like the regular doctor that will
usually be in your clinic trying to figure out what is wrong with you. I’ve seen
how hard that is because you have so many patients waiting on you, you must have
a lot of passions in order to deal with a job like that. With that being said I wouldn't like to be a Allopathic Physician.

"True wealth is of the heart, not of the purse."
Og Mandino
"True wealth is of the heart, not of the purse."
Og Mandino
Og Mandino is making an excellent quote by saying that true wealth is of the heart not of the purse because it matters more for a person to have a great heart and personality then if you have all the money in the world. What' a better way to be loved and liked for your money or for the person you are. At that time that you have all the money you can ask for and also the friends it might feel good but what if one of those days all your money runs out where will all your friends go if all you offered them was money and not kindness of your heart. That's why wealth is not of the purse.
Allergist/
Immunologist
Duties
and Responsibilities: is a physician
specially trained to diagnose, treat and manage allergies, asthma and
immunologic disorders including primary immunodeficiency disorders. These
conditions range from the very common to the very rare, spanning all ages and
encompassing various organ systems. Examines and treats disorders and diseases of
the immune system. Prescribes and administers patient medications. Performs a
variety of laboratory procedures, examines sample tissues, and uses various
biological and chemical analyses to identify harmful organisms or pathological
conditions.
Salary: $187,400-$225,814
Education:
In the United States, becoming an allergist /
immunologist requires at least an additional nine years of training beyond a
bachelor’s degree. After completing medical school and graduating with a
medical degree, physicians undergo three years of training in internal medicine
or pediatrics and pass the exam of either the American Board of Internal Medicine
or the American Board of Pediatrics. May require at least 2-4 years of
immunology/allergy experience.
Reflection:
An
allergist/immunologist doesn't sound like the type of career I would enjoy studying.
It does sound like a very important job and the salary is not bad either but
what’s the point in studying something your heart doesn't desire. This topic doesn't interest me and I rather be happy with my job then be rich and depressed waking up to a job I dislike.

Sterling W. Sill
Student Success Statement
"Real wealth is not so much what we have as what we are."
Sterling W. Sill
In life money isn't everything. Sterling W. Sill makes a strong point by pointing out that just because you might be wealthy in life that that makes you a better person than someone who isn't as fortunate. Being wealthy as what you are means what kind of person you are. If you have all the money in the world but you're a cruel and selfish person nobodys going to see you as a good person. For example if you have a person who isn't as wealthy but is generous and kind of course he's going to be worth a lot more then the person with the money because at the end of the day money can only buy you happiness that won't last long or isn't real.
Acupuncture
Duties
and Responsibilities: The stimulation
of specific acupuncture points along the skin of the body involving various
methods such as penetration by thin needles or the application of heat,
pressure, or laser light. Traditional acupuncture involves needle insertion and
cupping therapy. It is a form of complementary and alternative medicine and a
key component of traditional Chinese medicine. According to TCM, stimulating
specific acupuncture points corrects imbalances in the flow of it through
channels known as meridians. Acupuncture aims to treat a range of conditions,
though is most commonly used for pain relief. Doctors of acupuncture use implements such as herbs and
needles to restore the energy flow. This course on herbs and health can give
you an idea about natural medicine to supplement acupuncture.
Salary: $75,000-$80,000
Education:
You will need the
equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree to begin a career and start earning as an
acupuncturist in a regionally accredited college or university. You can major
in a subject range as long as you include six hours in your semester for
biochemistry, chemistry or biology, which is a prerequisite for Master’s
program applications. To become certified, you will need to enroll in a
master’s program that the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine has accredited. The required curriculum for acupuncture students
include courses in ethics and practice management, counseling, biomedical
science, treatment and diagnosis techniques and oriental medical theory.
Reflection: This career won’t be one that I would
like to wake up in the morning to go do. It honestly seems boring because to me
all you’re doing is poking a person with a needle to heal them. What if an exscinded
was to happen and I was to puncher something else? Plus it’s a very long
process of education and to find a job because only 23 states allow this kind
of process and the fact that it’s not legal in other states makes it seem as
not a good career you would want to choose.

Choose The Right!!!
Student Success Statement
"You cannot do wrong and feel right. It is impossible."
Ezra T. Benson
Student Success Statement
"You cannot do wrong and feel right. It is impossible."
Ezra T. Benson
Sometimes making the right choice can be hard for some people. But Ezra Benson is right, you can't do wrong and feel right that's the reason why you feel guilty after doing wrong. That's probably the main reason why humans have a conscience because we are not meant to do the wrong thing but the right thing and if we do make the decision to do wrong we always have something behind our heads reminding us it was wrong and that you must do the right thing. For example if you lie to someone you won't feel good inside because it's all a lie, it's not true. Making the right decisions can only bring good and positive feelings.
Acupressure
Duties
and Responsibilities: Acupressure is a form of Chinese medicine that
applies pressure to key healing points on the body, stimulating a person's
self-healing abilities and encouraging energy flow. Acupressure uses the same
meridian pathways and pressure points as acupuncture. However, students in
acupressure classes and training learn to use finger pressure instead of
needles to relieve pain and help clients achieve greater health.
Salary: $81,830- $31,390
Education: You'll find acupressure classes and training programs available at
massage therapy institutes and specialized Chinese medicine or acupressure
schools. Each acupressure school will offer its own unique curriculum, but, in
general, you can expect your acupressure training to cover these subjects:
Anatomy
and physiology
Acupressure points and meridians
Theories of Chinese medicine
· Acupressure techniques and protocols
· Health, hygiene and contraindications
· Neuromuscular techniques
Reflection: Acupressure sounds interesting but not so much to make me want to major in it and do that for the rest of my life. I don’t want to offend any people who have major in this career or people who want to but I don’t like the idea of waking up every morning to go to work and punchier another person’s hand or anybody part to make the body heal. It doesn't grab my attention in doing this. I would have to say no I wouldn't like to major in this career.

HPIAM
My First Week of School in HPIAM 2014
The first week in HPIAM I have to admit I was really nervous because instead of being a freshman coming into a new school I'm actually a senior. This is my first year and last year in HPIAM and I'm very glad I moved here because the vibe here is so different from my old school. Comparing my old school to this one I would have chosen HPIAM since my first year of high school, that's probably the only thing I regret not doing. The teachers here since the first day were nice and they showed the interest in their students just like the principle. I had been in Diego Rivera for 3 years and my principle could careless about his students he focused more on the misbehaved onse. Mr.C since the first day welcomed me, it's only been a week and Mr.C already knows who I am and only because he takes time in meeting his students. Not only the staff has been kind but also a few students. I thought that being the new girl would be hard but some students here have made it very easy for me by helping find my classes, talking to me about the teacher and also about how the school functions. I've only been in HPIAM for a few days as if I was a freshman and I don't think I have ever been so excited to wake up so early in the morning to come to school. Hopefully my experiences get better throughout the year.

“Education is the latchkey to success in life.”
Gordon B. Hinckley
Gordon B. Hinckley by using this
quote is telling everybody out there that with education you will have a successful
life. If you were to choose not to attend school what would you do out of your
life? For every job you do you have to learn the material first before doing
the job. If some jobs don’t require you to study it’s usually because it’s a minimum
wage paying job. You don’t want to be working for 14 hours straight and only
getting paid $8 dollars the hour. In order for you to have a good paying job
you need education in your life.
Ophthalmologist
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Ophthalmologists are physicians who specialize in the
treatment of eye disorders and diseases. They treat vision problems and write
prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and corrective eyeglass lenses. When
necessary, they perform eye surgery. Most ophthalmologists are in private
practice, however some are employed by hospitals or clinics, and other perform
research.
Average Salary: $90,000-$150,000
Educational Requirements:
Only physicians may study to become ophthalmologists. After completing
medical school and an internship, an ophthalmologist must then complete a three
to five year residency in an approved ophthalmology program. After completing
their residency program they must pass an examination to be certified.
Reflection: I don't think
I would like to be an ophthalmologist because it doesn't seem to interest me.
The amount that they get paid is very good but I wouldn't like to be going to a
job I’m unhappy with. I have glasses and
I've been wearing them for a long time but eyes don't
interest me, it’s
not a career I see myself doing. Maybe the reason why I wouldn't like to try
this career is because since I was a little girl I had to go to so many ophthalmologists
to see if my eye was doing ok because I had an operation on it.

“Decisions determine destiny.”
Thomas
S. Monson
Thomas S. Monson is making a great point by saying that
every decision determine destiny because everything you do in life affects your
future. For example if you have a student who throughout his whole life he has
been responsible, finishing school, and hard working well that hard work will
pay off and odds will be that he will graduate from a good university, obtain a
well-paid career and succeed in life. But if there’s a student who has done
nothing but miss school behave bad, odds will be he won’t make it far in life
and have a stable job and home. Every decision you make no matter how small
they’re can be it will affect your destiny.
Psychatrist
Psychiatrists are physicians who specialize in the problem
of mental illness. As physicans, they are licensed to use a wide variety of
treatment sand may write prescriptions. Psychiatrists may work for the government,
have their own private practice, or work in hospitals, clinics, or
universities. Their duties include:
·
Designing treatment programs
·
Conducting psychotherapy
·
Prescribing potent mental illness drugs
·
Supervising electrotherapy treatment
·
Conducting research
·
Leading a team of mental health care problems
Average Salary: $90,000-$200,000
Educational Requirements: Bachelors, Masters, Ph.D. degrees
In addition to completing the requirements for a degree in allopathic or osteopathic
medicine psychiatrists must complete an intensive three year residency in
psychiatry.
Reflection:
Being a psychiatrist sound very interesting, learning about the way that
the mind works always interests me. I had no idea that being a psychiatrist was
within the medical field but if it is I would sure take in consideration in
being a psychiatrist. It maybe a few years of studying but the salary will pay
off. I want a job that I can be able to help people and this career fits
perfectly.
