                                            Student Success Statement

"The more obedient we are, the more freedom we have."

                                                          Boyd K. Packer

As Boyd K. Packer said "the more obedient we are the more freedom we have". His very true about that because obedience not only comes from when you follow directions from your parents but a lot within teachers and in your community. For example if you are obedient when your parents tell you that you could only be out with you friends in a certain time and you follow the directions your parents will start letting you out more with trust because they know that if they ever say a time you will follow directions and be obedient. Not only does it work with people but also with teachers, if you listen to the directions and follow them teachers never give you a hard time because they know they don't have to waste time in telling you what you have to do. You'll have more freedom because they will know you would get your work done. That's why always choose the right because you will bring you nothing but good things.

                Auricular Therapy

Duties and Responsibilities: An acupuncture technician, often called an acupuncture detoxification specialist, performs an acupuncture treatment on five points of the ear. In traditional Chinese medicine, all illnesses are believed to be driven by an energy imbalance in the body. Acupuncture uses needles to balance the energy of the body's pathways. While it can take 3-4 years for an aspiring acupuncturist to learn a wide variety of applications, an acupuncture technician is trained for 100 hours or less in just auricular acupuncture.

Salary: $38,000 – $137,000

Education: To become an acupuncture technician, you will need to participate in a program certified by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. This program will teach you the five basic ear points of auricular acupuncture. In a NADA program, you'll take a 30-hour didactic course and spend 40 hours practicing your skills in a clinic. You should have a master's degree or higher and share these traits: Trustworthy: You are known for your personal integrity and honesty. Independent: You enjoy flying solo and doing things your own way. Detail Oriented: You pay close attention to all the little details.

Reflection: Being an Auricular Therapy doesn't interest me. Having to look into people ears and using needles just freaks me out and makes me not want to do it. I also took the test that they have online to see if that major is really for me but unfortunately I scored low so I don’t think I would be good for this career. Situations where you have to poke into something with a needle just isn't for me , it freaks me out.

                                          Student Success Statement
" The key to freedom is obedience"

Boyd K. Packer
This quote of Packer can be classified in many different ways. Obedience can come from anywhere in life. From work to school to your community and home. If at work you can follow the directions giving to you you'll be faired and no longer be able to pay your bill and other necessities. In school if you don't listen to the teachers you will not pass the class and fail. In your community if you can't follow the law you will be sent to jail and won't be free.
                                  Choose The Right!

Obedience: The practice of obeying a law or ruleor of doing something according to a tradition. Is a  human behavior, is a form of social influence in which a person follows instructions or orders from another person. For example, in a situation when one orders a person to kill another innocent person and he or she does so willingly or something not so serious as that when your parents tell you to clean your room and you do as they say that is obedience. It doesnt have to be a person following the directions of another person it can also be you giving directions to your pet animal and they will fellow.

           911 Memorial

In September 11, 2001, 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. Two of the planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. This cased our Twin Towers to collapse. Often referred to as 9/11, the attacks resulted in extensive death and destruction. Over 3,000 people were killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., including more than 400 police officers and firefighters. This day was probably one of the most upsetting days the United States could have had. Every year I think and ask myself the same questions over and over again. How can there be such cruel people out there? Why take a life of someone? It’s disappointing how humanity has become, no longer do people use threatening words to you, now people hurt and kill others for believes that make no sense. Whatever happened to living in peace with one another and like one of the bible armaments say love your neighbor above all things. May those who passed away rest in peace and always remember will never forget them.

"What you are as a person is far more important than what you are as a basketball player"

                                                   John Wooden

It's far more important the person you are then what you do for a living. You can be the best basketball player anyone can possibly want but if you have a horrible attitude somebody is going to want to become a fan of you and look up to you. I've had many chances to meet famous people and the first thing i look at is if they are generous and kind with me because that's what mainly matters. What if your favorite basketball player can careless about his fan and you're wasting money going to every game cheer for him. It just wouldn't seem fair right? That's why it matters more who you are as a person then the best basketball player.

They also focus on injury/illness prevention, first aid and emergency care, assessment of injury/illness, human anatomy and physiology, therapeutic modalities, and nutrition. . Athletic trainers provide physical medicine, rehabilitative and preventative services. Athletic trainers treat a breadth of patients, including but not limited to: professional, college, secondary school and youth athletes, dancers, musicians and military personnel.

Education: The minimum requirement for most athletic trainer positions is a bachelor's degree. The curricula include science and health-related subjects, such as nutrition, kinesiology, biomechanics and exercise physiology. Experience requirements include supervised time in clinics and internships, which may be with a college or local professional sports teams. Students who want to become certified athletic trainers must earn a degree from an accredited athletic training curriculum. More than 70 percent of certified athletic trainers hold at least a master’s degree.

Reflection: Being an Athletic Trainer sounds interesting and fun. Being in the field and caring for those who are injured sounds more fun than having to sit around in an office waiting for patients to come. I've been learning about being an athletic trainer in my sports med class so I’m familiar with this career and although the pay may not be so good it’s still a career I wouldn’t mind doing in the medical field.
