911 Memorial
In September 11, 2001, 19 militants
associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda hijacked four airliners
and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. Two of
the planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York
City. This cased our Twin Towers to collapse. Often referred to as 9/11, the
attacks resulted in extensive death and destruction. Over 3,000 people were
killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., including more
than 400 police officers and firefighters. This day was probably one of the
most upsetting days the United States could have had. Every year I think and
ask myself the same questions over and over again. How can there be such cruel
people out there? Why take a life of someone? It’s disappointing how humanity
has become, no longer do people use threatening words to you, now people hurt and
kill others for believes that make no sense. Whatever happened to living in
peace with one another and like one of the bible armaments say love your neighbor
above all things. May those who passed away rest in peace and always remember will never forget them.
